The first time I visited Amsterdam was on a short weekend between group locations when I studied abroad. We were so exhausted from our two weeks in London, that we didn’t have much energy to tromp around and explore as much as we’d have liked to. This time, Brandon & I did nothing but explore. We immersed ourselves in the street scenes all day and night, walking everywhere, taking pictures of everything… It was perfect. Amsterdam is so beautiful and so unique. It’s often referred to as the “Venice of the North” because of its immense canals and its charming streets. It should be called “Bikes of the World,” though, because we both had a few near-death experiences involving bicyclists… They’re everywhere.
Luckily, we survived to enjoy scrumptious pancakes, beautiful sights, and even an interesting stay in a boat hostel on the canal : )
La primera vez que visité Amsterdam estaba en un corto fin de semana entre las ciudades del grupo cuando yo estudiaba en el extranjero. Estábamos tan cansadas después de nuestras dos semanas en Londres, que no teníamos mucha energía para tromp y explorar tanto como nos hubiera gustado. Esta vez, Brandon y yo no hacía más pero explorar. Nos sumerge en las escenas de la calle todo el día y la noche, caminar por todas partes, tomando fotos de todo … Fue perfecto. Amsterdam es tan hermoso y tan único. A menudo se refiere como la “Venecia del Norte” por sus canales inmensos y sus calles encantadoras. Debería llamarse “Bikes of the World,” sin embargo, porque los dos nos tomamos unas cuantas experiencias cercanas a la muerte que involucran a ciclistas… Están por todas partes.
Por suerte, sobrevivimos a disfrutar de deliciosos panqueques, vistas hermosas, e incluso una estancia interesante en un albergue en bote por el canal : )
